God is in the details

Speak to The Rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water, thus you shall bring water out of the Rock and give drink to the congregation and their animals.

And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them" Hear now you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?" Then Moses lifted his hand and struck The Rock twice with his rod; and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron" because you did not believe me, to hallow me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore, you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.

What blessing do we risk losing because we alter what God has said to do? I think about the church at large and the vast "interpretations" and applications of God's word as well as to my own daily life and choices. God is in the details of his word for a reason. It seems with Moses it was to demonstrate his belief and what God would do but also to hallow God in the presence of the congregation.

In my daily walk, do I still demonstrate belief in what God will do? More importantly, do I hallow, Revere, and honor him in the presence of others? Do I demonstrate with my mouth? How great God is?

Food for thought.
